On December 19, 2004, the World Poker Tour held the WPT Young Guns of Poker special poker tournament, which is a very thrilling qualifying event for the prestigious Season 3 WPT World Championship. A total of six outstanding poker competitors were invited to participate in the competition, each of which has made a name for themselves in the international poker circuit. Known for featuring some of the finest and most exciting poker tournaments in the world, the tour promises to provide a spectacular display of poker skills and dominance with this prestigious event.
Through the years, the World Poker Tour never fails to amaze the avid supporters and observers in the poker industry with super exciting special events. Besides WPT Battle of Champions, WPT Ladies Night, and WPT Bad Boys of Poker, the tour was able to break ground and move away from its traditional game offerings with the super special poker tournament WPT Young Guns of Poker. Despite being featured only in Season 3, it was enough to make a huge impact on the poker world, especially in terms of how poker event organizers and providers can make their game offerings more fantastic and attractive.
Moving on with the action at WPT Young Guns of Poker, the event featured top professional poker players like Joe Cassidy, David Williams, and Pete Lawson. At the same time, it also featured top poker individuals such as Thomas Keller, Scott Fischman, and John D'Agostino. With all these topnotch poker players crammed into one exciting poker event, the action was expected to be as intense as ever. With all the players showing a lot of aggressiveness at the start of this special event, it was really hard to predict who would go on until the end to win the tournament.
Of course, even with a bevy of highly talented poker players present in one grueling and tough poker competition, only one player would win the WPT Young Guns of Poker tournament. During the early rounds, Williams was able to commit some crucial errors, which led to his elimination from the event. After a few more rounds of exciting battle among these topnotch poker players, it was D'Agostino's turn to be eliminated. Soon after, Keller followed the fate of the previous two players towards elimination.
After some more rounds of exciting and non-stop poker action, the WPT Young Guns of Poker participants were trimmed down to three, as Cassidy, Lawson, and Fischman firmly held ground in the competition. After some costly errors, Lawson also got himself eliminated from the poker tournament. The remaining two players battled it out for a couple or more rounds before the winner was eventually determined. In the end, Fischman got the best out of Cassidy to beat him in one of the most amazing and impressive finishes in World Poker Tour history. The win gave Fischman a direct seat to the much-anticipated WPT World Championship at the end of Season 3.
